It took about 50 years for JCL to travel across the street from Incarnate Word High School in San Antonio, Texas, to Trinity University, site of the 50th NJCL Convention. In the pages that follow, you'll find images and highlights of this Golden Anniversary convention. The tabs at the top of the page can be used to go directly to a specific day's events. JCLers received a hearty Texas welcome in the Bell Center, site of registration for convention itself as well asfor Ludi, Olympika, Graphic Arts and That's Entertainment.

Prospective JCL candidates get tips on running a successful campaign at an afternoon colloquium chaired by NJCL Parliamentarian Courtney Wang.

A hot, sunny afternoon provided perfect weather for the Swimming Olympika, the first competition of the convention.

The Texas JCL delegation hosted a Salutatio / Fiesta in Sams Gymnasium of the Bell Center for those attendees wishing to beat the heat and have a little fun.

The Academic competition began on Tuesday evening with the Hellenic History, Latin Grammar, and Greek Derivatives examinations administered in Laurie Auditorium.

Sponsors peruse a display of memorabilia from 50 years of NJCL Conventions, which was coordinated by longtime JCL sponsor and attendee Susan Schearer of Virginia. Sponsors were also presented with a JCL History prepared by Mrs. Schearer in commemoration of this Golden Anniversary convention.
