As the millennium drew to an end, NJCL continued its strong traditions of excellence.

This year saw the institution of the Summa Cum Laude NJCL Sponsor award to recognize the NJCL sponsors who have continued to provide substantial contributions at the state and national levels.

In August, the University of Oklahoma played host to the NJCL Convention, which this year began a Tuesday-Sunday schedule.
